Automata are humorous and sophisticated machines with intricate designs on paper that move with cranks, levers and wooden sticks engineered to simulate lifelike motion. Turn the crank the skipper turns the mainsail and moves over the sailboat's side. The kit teaches mechanics and stimulates the imagination of kids of all ages.
Each kit is packaged in a sleeve containing four cards (8 1/2 x 12) printed with model parts, wooden sticks, and complete instructions. Assembly requires a few basic tools: glue, scissors, craft knife, needle and thread. When assembled, the models range 4-11 W and 7-13 H. Design by W. Ruffler. Recommended for ages 12 and up.
